* The annual CUW Scholarship Bash will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 10) in the Multipurpose Room of Koch Arena. Tickets will be on sale at the door, 13 pieces of eight ($13) for lunch and 1 doubloon ($1) for drawings. Drop anchor and come aboard -- there is no cost for admittance. Proceeds support the CUW endowed scholarship.
* The WSU School of Social Work Advisory Board will host an April Brown Bag Learning Lunch from noon-1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 10) at University Methodist Church, 2220 N. Yale. Kamy Hopper and Bruce Brown from the Department for Children and Families will present "Exploitation and Fiduciary Abuse in Elder Adults." The event is free.
* Travel the globe during lunch. The "Around the World Wednesdays: WSU's Cultural Ambassador" presentation series continues with a presentation on Sri Lanka from 12:30-1:30 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 10) in Ablah Library, Leisure Reading Room (first floor, in reserve area). Feel free to bring your lunch.
* The next speaker in the Spring 2013 Physics Seminar Series will be professor Jordan Hanson of the University of Kansas at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, April 10) in 126 Jabara Hall. Hanson will present "Ultra-High Energy Neutrino Detection in Antarctica with ARIANNA and ARA."
* The Intensive English Language Center needs volunteers -- especially drivers -- to be conversation leaders. You will be conversation partners spending time on Wednesdays helping international students practice English conversation skills. If you are a native speaker of American English and would like to volunteer, please send an email expressing your interest to william.thomas@wichita.edu.
* The Shocker Pride Celebration will be held Wednesday, April 24, in 209 Hubbard Hall. There will be a reception to meet and greet the honorees at 3 p.m., followed by the awards presentation at 3:30 p.m. Please respond to the Shocker Pride Celebration invitation and confirm attendance to campus box 62 by Wednesday, April 17.
