The WSU Foundation honored 21 new members to the Society of 1895 on April 4 at the Marcus Welcome Center. The giving club consists of people who have included Wichita State in their legacy plans. New and current members enjoyed hearing from Mike Lamb, WSU Foundation vice president for planned giving, Elizabeth King, WSU Foundation president and CEO, and WSU President John Bardo.

A short video featuring Dominic Canare, a 2012 Society of 1895 member, was shown. Canare, who was in attendance, believes that education is the way to change the world and has established a scholarship, which will rotate colleges each year. He has designated his planned gift to support this scholarship.

Entertainment was provided by WSU junior Abby Lingg who performed two piano pieces by Nikolai Kapustin and Chopin. Lingg is pursuing a double major in piano performance and Spanish. She helped conclude the celebration by accompanying attendees as they sang the WSU alma mater.
