* The Performance Management Process for classified employees requires a mid-year discussion between April 1 and June 30. You will not assign a rating, but you will discuss the established objectives and competencies and the employee's progress toward meeting these goals. After the discussion with the employee, have him/her sign on page 10 of the form under mid-year discussion signatures to document that the discussion took place. * Travel the globe during lunch. The "Around the World Wednesdays: WSU's Cultural Ambassador" presentation series continues with a presentation on Mongolia from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in Ablah Library, Leisure Reading Room (first floor, in reserve area). Feel free to bring your lunch.

* The next speaker in the Spring 2013 Physics Seminar series is professor Eric Toberer of Colorado School of Mines at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in 126 Jabara Hall. The lecture will be "Rational design of complex thermoelectric materials."

* The next speaker in the Spring 2013 Chemistry Colloquium series is professor Shaorong Liu of the University of Oklahoma at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in 224 McKinley Hall. The lecture will be "High-Pressure Miniaturized Electroosmotic Pump for HPLC."

* This week's Wu Wednesday event is Summer Splash from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, in the Heskett Center pool. Are you a fish in the water? Are you competitive? For two hours we will have different aquatic competitions. Some games consist of who has the best cannonball, water basketball and who can build the best boat. Free admission.
