Reminders

* Mike Wood's retirement reception will be held from 2-4 p.m. today (Thursday, May 9) at the Media Resources Center. Remarks will be at 3 p.m. Wood, executive director of the Media Resources Center, has been at the MRC for almost 28 years.

* Department Tools account holders and anyone managing a departmental website are invited to a presentation on responsive design and how it helps package Web content for mobile devices. Anyone interested is invited to this presentation on what responsive design will mean for your department's website from 10-11:30 a.m. today (Thursday, May 9) in the CAC Theater.

* Join the Wichita State University Concert Chorale, A Cappella Choir, and Symphony Orchestra for a performance of W.A. Mozart's final musical statement: his iconic "Requiem," at 7:30 p.m. today (Thursday, May 9) in Miller Concert Hall.

* Retired WSU physics professor Donald Foster, 77, died Sunday, May 5. Foster taught at WSU for 39 years and served as chair of the physics department for a number of years. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 10 a.m. today (Thursday, May 9) followed by the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m., both at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

* Join us in highlighting this year's very best in teaching and research at WSU's 2013 Faculty Awards with a reception at 2:30 p.m., award presentations at 3 p.m. and general faculty meeting at 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 10, in 211 Hubbard Hall.

* Faculty, staff and administrators are invited to share best practice sessions/workshops in the annual Institute for Student Learning Assessment Nov. 12, at Kansas State University. The deadline for submitting a proposal is Sept. 15. The institute will focus on best of assessment for academic areas, student life units, program coordinators and university level issues.
