* There are some important updates coming to Blackboard and Panopto before the start of the summer term. Older, archived courses are scheduled to be removed on June 28.

* The Regional Institute on Aging is pleased to announce the three recipients of the first "Cassat Pilot Research Program: Undergraduate Student Participation in Aging Research" competition awards. Those receiving the one-year $10,000 awards are Moriah Beck (Department of Chemistry), Anil Mahapatro (Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Bioengineering Program), and Rui Ni (Department of Psychology).
* In Academe news, a summary of research, awards and other faculty/staff news from March and April. In addition, the deaths of our current or former colleagues are noted. Submit news for Academe to Joe Kleinsasser at joe.kleinsasser@wichita.edu.

* Human Resources reminds all full-time faculty, classified and unclassified staff that the dependent/spouse tuition assistance deadline for fall applications is Monday, July 1.

* Construction of a new five-story residence hall at WSU will start soon after Memorial Day. The new residence hall will house about 770 students and be located between Cessna Stadium and Morrison Hall. A new 400-seat dining hall will be attached to the residence hall.

* More than 2,200 students are eligible to participate in the 115th spring commencement ceremonies Friday and Saturday, May 17-18, in Charles Koch Arena.
