Reminders

* Requisitions received at the WSU Foundation by 5 p.m. today (Wednesday, July 3); checks will be ready around noon Monday, July 8.

* WSU offices will be closed and classes will not be held in observance of the Independence Day holiday on Thursday, July 4. WSU will be open and classes will resume on Friday, July 5. The Heskett Center will be closed July 4, and the Ulrich Museum of Art galleries and offices also will be closed July 4. Galleries will be open 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, July 5. Offices will open at 8 a.m. Friday, July 5.

* Student Involvement is updating its database of Greek alumni employed at WSU. If you are an alumnus or alumna member of a fraternity or sorority, please take a moment to complete the form at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2268. Database information will be used to send information regarding upcoming Greek events and involvement opportunities.

* Pepsi introduced a limited edition can for its Pepsi Max brand featuring WuShock along with a congratulatory message for our recent Final Four appearance. The wRECk Center on the second floor of the RSC has a limited supply for purchase. For the low price of $1 plus sales tax, you can take away a 4-pack of cans along with a "Play Angry" commemorative towel. The wRECk Center opens at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday.

* Nancy Jensen, peer educator at WSU's Center for Community Support and Research, recently worked with Nathan P. Swink to publish "The Girl Who Cried Wolf!," the heroic story of Nancy's journey through abuse at the hands of the mental health system toward recovery and independent living. A reading and book signing will be held at Mead's Corner, 430 E. Douglas, from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, July 6.

* Faculty and staff with middle school-age students are invited to send their children to Future Shocker Camp from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, July 10. The cost is $15 and includes program materials, lunch and snacks. Students must be entering grades 6 through 8 in the fall with at least a 2.00 GPA. Reservations are required.

* The Office of Admissions produces and distributes the university visitor guide, and the latest edition arrived recently. Free quantities of visitor guides are available for departments to distribute to prospective students, future employees, community members and attendees of university-hosted conferences.
