* Applications Training has materials about the new and changed features in Office 2013. Check out the new online guides and demonstrations found in EmpHelp. (Orange cube underneath the weather in myWSU.) Click on Microsoft, then Microsoft Office Products Learning Guides and Handouts, and finally What is New in Office 2013. Watch this location for more information about Publisher and Access. To request an upgrade on your computer to Microsoft Office 2013, contact your area's Technical Support, STAC at 978-HELP (4357), or helpdesk@wichita.edu.

* Student Health Services has a special program for WSU employees who still need to complete their screening to get a discount on next year's health insurance. For $25, SHS will draw the required lab and complete the biometric screenings you need. Stop in at Student Health from 8-11 a.m. Monday through Friday. This program will be available through Monday, July 15. Lab work should be done fasting at least 10 hours, so please do not eat until after your blood is drawn.

* A Beginning Outlook 2010 training is scheduled from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, July 16. This hands-on training introduces the user to customizing their Outlook experience. There is focus on why Microsoft setup Outlook the way they did, and how to change things. To register for the class, log into myWSU, select EmpHelp, (orange cube underneath the Weather) and myTraining. Click the Register button to view session details and register for training.

* "Speech-Language Development in Preschool-Aged Children: A Quick Tour" will be presented by Brian Ray, clinical supervisor, Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at WSU's Child Development Center. * Faculty, staff and administrators are invited to share best practice sessions/workshops in the annual Institute for Student Learning Assessment Nov. 12 at Kansas State University. The deadline to submit a proposal is Sept. 15. The institute will focus on best of assessment for academic areas, student life units, program coordinators and university level issues.
