Cosmosphere program to feature WSU's Solomey

The Voyager spacecraft and the Van Allen Radiation Belt are among the topics of the 2013 Galaxy Forum upcmoing at the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center in Hutchinson from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, July 27. Admission is free.

WSU physics professor Nick Solomey will give a talk on recent results of astro-particle physics. Results to be discussed are the recent evidence for Dark Matter from the Space Station experiment, the discovery of extra-galactic neutrinos from the Ice Cube cosmic ray experiment at the South Pole, and recent new physics results of gamma ray bursts.

NASA scientist Tom Armstrong will explain why many think Voyager I has crossed into interstellar space and how space weather around the Van Allen Belt affects us on Earth. Admission is free.
