In terms of job training and preparation, WSU students benefit tremendously from having an office on campus that focuses primarily on paid internship placements. During 2011-12, more than 96 percent of WSU's internships and co-op placements yielded through Cooperative Education and Work-Based Learning were paid positions. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, only 47 percent of internships were paid positions for college students nationwide. The study shows that students who secured paid internships were also more likely to receive post-graduation job offers.
