* The Media Resources Center is hosting a week-long event for the semester start, called "Start 'IT' Right." The event runs today (Monday, Aug. 12) through Friday, Aug. 16, and features daily online course setup assistance sessions from 11 a.m.-noon, a different topic related to online or hybrid course teaching every day from 1:30-2:30 p.m., and more.

* All interested faculty and staff are invited to attend the Office of Admissions' Campus Visit Workshop from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Marcus Welcome Center. Learn about common student questions, engage in roundtable discussions and hear more about the campus visit scheduling process. Faculty and staff will also share some of their best practices and experiences from meeting with visitors.

* The Annual Shock"Hers" Fundraiser Golf Tournament to benefit the WSU women's golf team is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 26, at Braeburn Golf Club. It's a women-only, four-person scramble. The cost is $100 per player, with all proceeds going to the Lady Shockers golf team. For more information, call Linda at 978-3362.
* WSU Athletics will host its annual Volleyball 101 fundraiser Saturday, Aug. 18. Tickets for this event are available through the Athletic Ticket Office at 978-3267. Come support your volleyball team and help start the season with a big bash.
