Help available for instructors
Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2371. That page includes a link to a syllabus template you can adapt to your own needs, and a series of syllabus statements from various offices around campus that you are invited to include in your syllabus.
Of particular note is the "Suggested Language for Course Syllabi" link that outlines the federal requirement for defining a "credit hour" in your syllabus. WSU's +/- grading system gives you flexibility in determining what level of performance in your classes earns what letter grade/grade point. To help avoid potential grade appeals later, it is a good idea to explicitly define those levels of performance in your syllabus.
While you are thinking about the structure of your courses and dates of assignments, please remember that you will be asked to give early alert feedback on your students through the GradesFirst system during the fifth week of classes.
The calendar of important academic dates can be found at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2369.
