* Get ready for Shocker volleyball. WSU will face seven teams in 2013 that participated in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. WSU will also host the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Charles Koch Arena for the first time since 2008.

* All interested faculty and staff are invited to attend the Office of Admissions' Campus Visit Workshop from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, at Marcus Welcome Center. Learn about common student questions, engage in roundtable discussions and hear more about the campus visit scheduling process. Faculty and staff will also share some of their best practices and experiences from meeting with visitors.

* If you are an employee on a nine- or 10-month appointment and have chosen to have your academic year 2014 salary spread over 12 months, take a minute to confirm that your current direct deposit information is still correct. * The Center for Management Development staff offices are now located in 009 Devlin Hall. The CMD training room is still located in Woodman Alumni Center.

* Exposure to hazardous chemicals is one of the most serious threats facing American workers today. A new online HazCom training is available to everyone at WSU, but the training is mandatory for employees who work with hazardous chemicals, including employees in the physical plant, chemistry and biology departments and any other locations in which employees come into contact with any type of chemical compound.
