* Join the Office for Faculty Development and Student Success, and honors staff and faculty for the annual open house to kick off the new academic year from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 28) in 115A Neff Hall. Light refreshments will be served. Hear about what is new with their programs and what to expect this fall and spring.

* Kansas NSF EPSCoR (KNE) is seeking white papers for collaborative initiatives to be included in its next Research Infrastructure Improvement Track-2 proposal to be submitted to the National Science Foundation in January 2014. The white paper will be due to KNE no later than Saturday, Aug. 31, and should be emailed to nsfepscor@ku.edu. Please see the NSF program solicitation for more information.

* Student Involvement needs volunteers to serve as judges for the Man and Woman of the Year competition. Volunteers need to be available the week of Sept. 23 to review applications and from noon-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, to conduct interviews. * Campus Sustainability is a new initiative aimed at increasing environmental, economic and social sustainability within the WSU community. The initiative is led by a network of student, faculty and staff sustainability ambassadors. * The Learn More -- 2013 WSU Technology Fair will be held Tuesday, Oct. 29. Discover the many ways technology is used on campus today in presentations by members of WSU's faculty and staff. Your help is needed for the fair to be a success. Submit your proposal to be a presenter at the fair and share how you use technology in the classroom and workplace today.
