Now you see it; soon you won't

Agave americana, aka the Century plant, is currently blooming on the island in front of the Ulrich Museum. It doesn't actually take 100 years for the plant to bloom, but it is still a rare sight to behold, only flowering once about every 10 to 30 years. Adding to its unique nature, the plant dies off shortly after blooming. KMUW radio and two local television stations took note of the blooming plant as well.
