* "How to be a HIPP Professor" will be presented from 1-3 p.m. today (Thursday, Sept. 5) in 200 Lindquist Hall. Learn what the new Institute on High-Impact Pedagogical Pracies is all about and decide if you want to join.

* Two orientations for undergraduate students interested in the social work program will be held from 8-9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, in 114 Lindquist Hall, and 5-6:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, in 107 Devlin Hall. Information about the BSW program, the application process and more will be provided.

* Student Involvement needs volunteers to serve as judges for the Man and Woman of the Year competition. Volunteers need to be available the week of Sept. 23 to review applications and from noon-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, to conduct interviews. * Faculty and staff who reach milestone years of service will be recognized in three ceremonies in September. Length of service is recognized in five-year increments. Employees who reach anniversary dates from Sept. 2, 2012, to Sept. 1, 2013, will be recognized. Ceremonies on Sept. 12 and 20 are open to the WSU community.

* KMUW is offering free calendar strips for computer monitors, desk edges and cubical walls. The calendar strips adhere to computer monitors or just about any surface you choose. The 2013-14 academic year-at-a-glance calendar is a handy reference. Anyone wanting one or more should call 978-6789 or send an email request to info@kmuw.org.

* There is an upcoming limited submission to NSF -- Partnerships for Innovation: Building Innovation Capacity (NSF 13-587). WSU is limited to two proposals as the lead applicant in response to this funding opportunity. If you are interested in preparing a Letter of Intent for the Nov. 18 due date, you must notify proposals@wichita.edu by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, to allow time for an internal review of projects if needed.
