* An informational meeting is planned for those interested in working with WSU as members of an interdisciplinary team of professionals to help a medical clinic and orphanages in Haiti from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, in 300 Ahlberg Hall (note room change). Trips are planned for April 4-18, and Nov. 14-28, 2014. If you have questions, contact the WSU Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at 978-3240.
* A new form from the state of Kansas will be required for classified performance evaluations beginning Oct. 1. Supervisors should complete their current end-of-the-year reviews by Monday, Sept. 30, and begin using the new form in October. Performance Management Process training will be offered during September. Completion of training is mandatory for all supervisors of classified employees. Log in to myWSU, select EmpHelp underneath the weather, and myTraining to sign up for a session. If you have questions about training, contact randi.lindquist@wichita.edu or 978-6683.
* The University Bookstore has officially relocated to their temporary locations. Soft goods are located in room 142 RSC and textbooks are located in 233 RSC. They are open for business from 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
* Meredith Minkler, who holds a doctoral degree in public health, will give a communitywide presentation to introduce Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, in Lowe Auditorium, Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Admission is free.

* WSU will host a free flu shot clinic for faculty, staff and any spouse who are covered by health insurance plans offered by WSU through the state of Kansas from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, in 265 RSC. To receive a flu shot, you must make your appointment online.

* Recently the Alternative Service Committee (ASC) was formed to develop a proposal for classified employees to decide if they want to convert to University Support Staff (USS) employees or to continue as State Civil Service employees.
