* Interested faculty and staff are invited to stop by the newly added Champions Room, 007 RSC, between 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Monday, Sept. 23) to help judge the 9th Annual Shocker T-shirt Design Competition. The top three designs will be printed and sold in the bookstore. SAC and the University Bookstore appreciate your help.
* WSU will host the Distinguished Scholarship Invitational, one of the largest and most prestigious scholarship competitions in Kansas on Saturday, Nov. 16. Faculty and staff are invited to participate as observers by watching students participate in small group activities and rating them on their leadership skills. The approximate time commitment is 7:30 a.m.-noon. A light breakfast and brief training session is included. * The Human Performance Laboratory is recruiting volunteers between the ages of 50-75 years for participation in a study. Eligible participants will be asked to fill out a few questionnaires, undergo a dual energy x-ray absorptiometry scan for determination of muscle and bone mass, and perform a couple of physical function tests. * It's never too late to learn to swim. People of all ages are invited to participate in swimming lessons offered in the Campus Recreation pool. The next session starts Monday, Sept. 30.
