WSU ShiftSpace presents Commerce Street Homecoming

WSU ShiftSpace Gallery will return to the Commerce Street Art District with a grand reopening event at their new location at 416 S. Commerce Street, Suite 202. There will be a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, featuring an apperance of SGA dignitaries and WuShock.

Works on display will include "Unsettled" drawings by recent BFA graduate Beth Post. Also for one night only, from the Brooklyn Museum, the traveling "Sketchbook Project" will be moving from the Ulrich to Commerce. The theme being explored will be "Capes, Masks and Tights."

The Ulrich Museum will host a community event in conjunction with the "Sketchbook Project" displaying sketchbooks and projects of local artist Kristen Beal and Bob Burdette. Under this theme, the Wichita Prose Collective will host an open mic, spoken-word performance event encouraging you to get your capes, masks and tights ready for a litany of Shakespearean fun.

Food will be available for purchase from Wichita's famous “Flying Stove” from 5-9 p.m.
