* A reminder to all who have registered for the Shocker Walking Challenge -- time is running/walking out to become qualified for the September prize package. The deadline to be eligible for the September prize package is today (Thursday, Oct. 3), so stop by the Heskett Center to have a helpful Campus Recreation guest services attendant help you log your total steps for the month.
* The Native American and indigenous people currently walking from Washington D.C., to Alcatraz, Calif., will be on campus at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, around the Plaza of Heroines, in front of Ablah Library. There will be drumming and a blessing ceremony, and they will discuss their efforts for indigenous sovereignty, respect for Mother Earth, preservation of language and culture, opposition to current plans for developing Canadian tar sands and other native issues.
* Student Involvement is introducing its new campus outreach program, the Student Involvement Ambassadors. The goal is to show the amazing benefits of getting involved on campus, and highlighting WSU offices and programs that are great resources for students.

* Faculty and staff are invited to the annual Admissions and Financial Aid Workshops for the latest in admissions information, policies and recruiting practices on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Use the information to support recruitment efforts from the perspective of your department. In addition, the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships will present the latest in financial aid guidelines and scholarship practices to interested individuals immediately following the admissions session.
