The WSU reading series Writing Now, Reading Now will present a reading with award-winning author Alice McDermott at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4, in the CAC Theater. A reception will be held prior to the reading at 6 p.m. at the Ulrich Museum of Art. The reception and reading are free and open to the public.

McDermott is the author of seven novels including "Someone" and "After This," a finalist for the 2006 Pulitzer Prize.

She will be available to sign copies of her new novel "Someone," as well as her previous titles after the reading.

Writing Now, Reading Now is sponsored by the WSU Department of English, University Libraries, Emory Lindquist Honors Program, Watermark Books & Cafe and the Ulrich Museum of Art.
