* During the past few years, many of our fellow employees and their families have benefited from the humanitarian and social services supported in part by United Way of the Plains. Recently you received information on how you can support United Way during its annual campaign. Please consider making a gift, large or small. * The 2nd Shocker Lifeline to End Hunger will occur from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today (Thursday, Oct. 24) outside the Elliott School of Communication. Following the lifeline event, Elliott School professor Deborah Ballard-Reisch will give a presentation at the Ulrich Museum from 1:30-3 p.m. More information is provided on the Hunger Awareness Initiative's website at http://wsuhunger.wordpress.com/event-2/.

* University Libraries will host two Web of Science presentations for faculty and students from 10-11 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, on the lower level of Ablah Library. * Student Involvement is seeking volunteer staff and faculty who are interested in serving as student organization advisers. Their role is pivotal in the sustainability and growth of student organizations.
