Student Loan Repayment Workshops

Wichita State's Office of Financial Aid will host two Student Loan Repayment Workshops from 11 a.m.-noon Wednesday, Nov. 6, in 211 Hubbard Hall, and from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in 218 Hubbard Hall. The sessions are geared toward graduating students. However, students who are not graduating but have questions about repayment are encouraged to attend as well.

If you have federal student loans you are strongly urged to join us for an informative and educational session on your federal student loan repayment options. This workshop is designed to help you make the right choices when it comes to managing the repayment of your federal student loans.

These workshops are presented to take the mysteries out of the loan repayment process, and to help remove loan repayment stress. Also learn some financial tips to manage life after graduation.

Some topics covered in the workshop are:
- Loan Repayment Plans -- Learn about the different repayment plans available.
- Consolidation: Avoiding multiple monthly payments.
- Grace Periods: When do I have to start repaying?
- Deferment: Going on to graduate school? Entering the military? Expecting a child? Learn about all the deferment options.
- Forbearance: Temporary postponement of monthly payments.
- Loan forgiveness programs: Do they exist and how do they work?
- Steps Toward Financial Independence After Graduation.
