WSU to host nonprofit management seminar on advocacy

Wichita State University's Hugo Wall School of Urban and Public Affairs Nonprofit Management Seminar on Tuesday, Oct. 29, will examine the issue of advocacy for nonprofit organizations. The seminar will be held from 3-5 p.m. in 132 Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex. There is no charge to attend.

These organizations advocate for concerns ranging from the needs of clients to neighborhood improvements. Panelists will share past and current advocacy programs and define permissible methods.

Serving on the panel are Jack Flesher, attorney, Bever Dye LC; Chris Power, vice president for administration, Kansas Health Foundation; Colin McKenney, CEO, Starkey, Inc., and Vicky Roper, Prevent Child Abuse director, Kansas Children's Service League.

Moderator is Melissa Walker, associate professor, Hugo Wall School. Nancy McCarthy Snyder, Hugo Wall School director, will welcome the audience.
