Free Film Fridays at WSU Shift Space

Join WSU Shift Space for Free Film Friday at 7 p.m. today (Friday, Nov. 15) for the screening of the 2010 film "Biutiful" by director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu. Find us at our new location in the Commerce Street Art District at 416 S. Commerce, Suite 102. This event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided. Seating is limited; the audience is encouraged to bring their own chairs.

"Biutiful" is a Mexican-Spanish drama starring Javier Bardem. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards in 2011, Best Foreign Language Film and Best Actor for Bardem. Bardem was also awarded Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival. On view in the gallery will be "Dissociative: Pushing Against the Norm," a regional graduate student exhibition curated by Jodi Throckmorton.

WSU Shift Space is WSU School of Art and Design's off-campus, student art gallery. Gallery hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 1-4 p.m. and Friday 5-9 p.m.

BFA Senior Exit exhibitions and MFA Thesis shows are usually held at WSU Shift Space; it serves as a professional incubator for student exhibitions, collaborations, and myriad real-world learning opportunities. Lisa Rundstrom is the gallery director.
