* The Department of Human Performance Studies will hold its 10th Annual Chili Cook-off and Student Appreciation Day today (Thursday, Dec. 5) in the Heskett Center lobby. If you want to enjoy some chili, bring a canned food item or $2, which will be donated to the Kansas Food Bank. General tasting begins at 11:30 a.m.

* All members of the university community are invited to the next Town Hall meeting for Classified staff from 3:30-4:30 p.m. today (Thursday, Dec. 5) in 218 Hubbard Hall, to hear the employment alternative being presented to WSU's Classified staff. While this alternative should have no direct impact on Unclassified Professional staff or faculty, the Alternative Service Committee wants an open and transparent process to ensure that all have the opportunity to hear and understand the options for Classified staff. * The University Bookstore's "Presents Palooza" sale continues today (Thursday, Dec. 5) with Tot Thursday.

* WSU faculty and staff are invited to a retirement reception for John Foster from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in the Gaddis Physical Plant classroom. Foster has worked for the Physical Plant for 23 years.

* WSU will host the second annual Canta Carol Run at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at Duerksen Fine Arts Center. The 5K walk or run will feature festive carolers singing holiday songs throughout the course.
