* WSU faculty and staff are invited to a retirement reception for John Foster from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in the Gaddis Physical Plant classroom. Foster has worked for the Physical Plant for 23 years.
* The University Bookstore's "Presents Palooza" sale continues today (Friday, Dec. 6) with Fleece Friday.
* Because of the holiday shutdown, the last day to submit invoices for payment in December is Friday, Dec. 13. Interdepartmental transfer requests must be submitted to Financial Operations by Tuesday, Dec. 17. The Business Procurement Card transaction logs must be returned by noon Monday, Dec. 16. And checks received in your office need to be deposited with the cashiers prior to shutdown. Bring these to Financial Operations by Thursday, Dec. 19, if possible.
* There are now options for State of Kansas employees to receive their 2013 W-2s in the early part of January instead of waiting for them to be mailed toward the end of January. You may also request prior year W-2s online. Once you make the election to receive your W-2 online, you will need to change it back if you decide to have them mailed in the future. * The Gilded Flower of DeathBlack Flowers will perform live at WSU Shift Space gallery on First today (Friday, Dec. 6), along with Connor Tillman of NonRock. The show begins at 7 p.m., gallery hours are 5-9 p.m. Entry is free, but donations to the musicians are encouraged.
* Calling all Shocker Walker Challenge participants. Visit the Heskett Center by Friday, Dec. 6, so all the steps you have taken during the month of November can be recorded. All participants who have taken more than 50,000 steps will be entered into a drawing to receive the monthly package drawing that includes a complimentary massage, semester and Shocker Fit membership and a personal locker.
