Reminders

* Nominations are sought for Wichita State's 2014 Senior Honor Men and Women awards. This is considered to be one of the highest honors a student can receive at WSU. Up to five men and five women are chosen for this honor each year. Please help identify students for this award and submit nominations at wichita.edu/seniorhonor by 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16. For more information, contact Trish Inslee at trish.inslee@wichita.edu or 978-6697.

* Before eating all those Christmas goodies, come to Student Health to complete your biometric screening. We are offering a special Christmas price of $20 to complete the screening during the week of Dec. 16-20. No appointment is necessary. You may walk in from 8-11 a.m. Please fast for at least 10 hours before the screening. Call 978-3620 or stop by 209 Ahlberg Hall for any questions or more information.

* In continuing the WSU tradition established in 1962 by the late Nicholas Pronko, professor emeritus of psychology, it is again time to support the Holiday Card Scholarship fund. This endowed fund provides three scholarships worth almost $1,500 each to students this school year. To make a gift, print the giving form at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?1944 and return it to the Annual Fund, Campus Box 2. For more information, go to http://www.wichita.edu/thisis/wsunews/cnews/?cnid=12544

* Blackboard Collaborate, a full-featured web conferencing tool, will be available for free to all faculty, staff and students starting Jan. 1. The tool includes the ability to do online virtual classroom presentations, whiteboard, application sharing, and web tours, as well as institution-wide instant messaging for all courses, offices and departments. * Need some extra cash for the holidays? The University Bookstore's textbook buyback is happening now through Tuesday, Dec. 17. Hours are: 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.

* On July 1, 2013, a change was made by the Office of Research and Tech Transfer to eliminate the previously defined Research Travel Rates due to potential compliance issues with A21. Current travel rates can be found by going to http://www.wichita.edu/travel and selecting 2014 Travel Voucher Procedures and Rates.
