* Students, faculty and staff participate in a variety of civic engagement ventures for the purpose of research, education and personal development. All interested staff and faculty are encouraged to attend a focus group meeting from 3-5 p.m. today (Tuesday, Jan. 21) in 265 RSC to discuss and develop comprehensive goals for student-led community engagement efforts. * Grading for spring 2014 pre-session courses opened Wednesday, Jan. 15. Faculty can access the Banner grading form via the Teach/Advise tab in the myWSU portal. Grades for any spring class officially ending by Jan. 19 can be entered during this grading period. Grades are due by 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22. A grading email with further details was sent to faculty and staff who are flagged as eligible instructors in Banner. Questions about grading can be directed to the Office of the Registrar at 978-3090.
* Join the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Black Student Union for the MLK Unity Walk at 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23. The candlelight procession will begin at 5 p.m. outside of Grace Wilkie and conclude in Pete's Place Lounge in the RSC. * The Office of Transitions and Orientation is looking for talented students to be Transition Mentors (formerly Orientation Leaders) for the 2014-2015 academic year. If you would like to nominate a student for this position, send their information to Kim Sandlin at kim.sandlin@wichita.edu. Transition Mentors will work with new students to help them have a successful transition to WSU. Nominations are due Friday, Jan. 31.
* The Intensive English Language Center needs volunteers to be conversation leaders to spend two hours on Wednesdays helping international students practice English conversation skills.
