* All faculty are invited to attend the monthly AAUP sectional meeting from 3:30-5 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 31) in 130 Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Agenda items include discussion of the Regents new social media policy and faculty participation at a statewide meeting on the new Regents' policy scheduled for Feb. 8 at Emporia State University.

* The Shocker women will host Southern Illinois at 7:05 p.m. today (Friday, Jan. 31) and Evansville at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, in Charles Koch Arena. The men host Evansville at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, in Charles Koch Arena. For tickets, call 978-FANS (3267).

* Young local talent from area dance academies grace the stage with a diverse afternoon of ballet, modern, jazz and tap at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, in Wilner Auditorium. * Leading Adaptively in the University -- A three-day leadership development program for all stakeholders in the university will be held Feb. 18, 26 and 27. Interested faculty and staff, who are committed to making the university a better place, are invited to participate. Staff will need approval from their supervisor as stated in the application. * Nominations are now being accepted now until noon Friday, Feb. 21, for the President's Award for Distinguished Service for Unclassified Professionals. Nominees should have provided exemplary, dedicated and caring service to Wichita State University beyond the normal expectations and responsibilities of their position and must have a .5 or greater appointment as an Unclassified Professional.
