Fran Cook is the January 2014 Shocker Walking Challenge award recipient. Cook walked 85,829 steps in January. Although there are 137 registered faculty/staff walkers on campus, only four turned in the total steps walked during January. A drawing was held to determine the winner. Cook will receive a Heskett Center semester membership, Shocker fitness 10 punch membership pass, 30-minute massage and Heskett Center semester locker rental for free.
To be eligible for the next prize drawing, registered walkers need to submit a form to Campus Recreation showing more than 50,000 steps in February. If you would like to start participating and have not yet signed up, visit Human Resources for more information.
