Early alert period: Feb. 25-March 7

Instructors of record are reminded that the academic early alert campaign begins Tuesday, Feb. 25. Designed to provide timely information regarding students who are showing signs that they may be at risk of failing a course, the academic early alert program is a key aspect of WSU's efforts to increase student success in accordance with the mandate from KBOR to increase retention and graduation rates, and is included in the Quality Initiative that WSU proposed to the Higher Learning Commission for our upcoming reaccreditation.

Instructors of students who are in the early alert pool will receive an email from "GradesFirst" (our current early alert software system): simply click the link and enter information regarding any students whose performance to date gives you concern. Written comments are most helpful.

Advisers then reach out to students to help them diagnose and resolve whatever issues may be impeding their progress. The instructor feedback period for the spring early alert campaign closes on Friday, March 7.

Inquiries regarding WSU's academic early alert program may be directed to william.vanderburgh@wichita.edu.
