Universities pride themselves on being places where students acquire high-level critical thinking skills. But what is critical thinking, and how can it be taught? Starting from Arum and Roska's (2010) troubling findings about the lack of measurable growth in critical thinking skills among most college students, we will discuss practical and effective ways to help students build their critical thinking skills from 1-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, in 112 Lindquist Hall.
