* Student Health Services is celebrating Heart Health Month. SHS will be at the RSC from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, doing free blood pressure checks and giving out coupons for discounted cholesterol screenings for students only. Information on keeping you and your heart healthy will be provided.
* The Office of Financial Aid is hosting its sixth annual Financial Aid Awareness Week today (Monday, Feb. 17) through Friday, Feb. 21. Events include Student Loan Repayment workshops, a Searching for Scholarships workshop, and Shocker Spirit Hour in the RSC. Students are also invited to FAFSA Frenzy at the Metropolitan Complex from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, for free one-on-one FAFSA assistance. * WSU Theater presents "The Trojan Women," written by Euripides in 415 B.C. and translated by Nicholas Rudall. It shows at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19-Saturday, Feb 22, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, and Sunday, Feb. 23, in the Welsbacher Theatre, Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 29th and Oliver, Entrance F. * Student Activities Council is seeking talented students to perform in the Hippodrome Variety Show. Variety Show acts are about five minutes long and students can perform any talent they want (i.e. singing, dancing, comedy, magic, etc.). Students who perform have the opportunity to win up to $150. * The baseball team will host Central Arkansas at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Eck Stadium. WSU students can pick up free tickets with a valid Shocker ID card at Eck Stadium ticket office.
* A Brown Bag diversity discussion on Affordable Health Care will be held from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19, in 142 RSC. Join the OMA, Student Health and Hunter Health Clinic navigators in a presentation on the Affordable Health Care Act. Students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to sign up for health insurance. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunch.
