* The deadline to enter the Shocker New Venture Competition is Friday, Feb. 28. The Shocker New Venture Competition, created by WSU Center for Entrepreneurship, inspires Kansas students to put entrepreneurial principles into practice, to spark an idea, develop a plan, pitch to investors and launch a new venture. There are more than $25,000 in prizes. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/SNVC to register.
* Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes in the RSC will be open for all remaining televised WSU men's basketball games, including the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament and the NCAA Tournament March Madness games. For weekend games, SSGL will open one hour prior to tip-off and remain open until 30 minutes after each game. Hours will be extended on weekdays as needed. The full menu of the Shocker Sports Grill will be available with fun foods, soft drinks and beer. Cheer on the Shockers from the home of the Shockers.
* Take advantage of the Campus Recreation's, complimentary daily towel and lock check-out service. Just bring your Shocker Card to the equipment room, and check out a towel and/or a lock for your own use.
* If you want to learn more about Microsoft products, the Microsoft IT Academy at http://wichita.edu/itacademy can help. It is offered free to registered students. Log in to myWSU, select the Home tab and locate the link for Microsoft IT Academy at WSU. * The men's basketball team will host Missouri State at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in Charles Koch Arena. The baseball team will host Long Beach State for 1 p.m. doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 28; Game time is yet to be determined for Saturday, March 1; and the1 p.m. Sunday, March 2, game has been canceled. Students can pick up free baseball tickets with a Shocker ID at the Eck Stadium ticket office on the day of the game.
