Reminders

* Two forums are scheduled to discuss the draft proposal to modify the KBOR Social Media Policy as created by the Workgroup appointed by KBOR. WSU workgroup representatives, Victoria Mosack, Faculty Senate president, and Rick Muma, associate vice president for Academic Affairs, will discuss the draft proposal and receive feedback. The forums will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, in 266 RSC (Pike Room), and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 27, in 238 RSC (Meeker Room).

* A draft of recommended changes to the Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) social media policy, adopted by KBOR in December, is now available for review and comment. Feedback will be received from now through Friday, March 28. The work group's draft recommendations and the feedback form are available at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2783

* A Westar electrical project will cause a power outage from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, March 19 that will affect Jabara Hall, Lindquist Hall, Heskett Center and Grace Wilkie Hall. If the planned outage is delayed by inclement weather, it will likely occur on Thursday, March 20.

* The Office of Research and Technology Transfer is sponsoring a webinar entitled "Dispelling SBIR/STTR Funding Myths and Misconceptions for University-Based Innovations," from noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, in 217 NIAR. Seating is limited. RSVP to becky.hundley@wichita.edu.

* On Feb. 26, all scholarship recipients and their donors attended a WSU Foundation dinner at Koch Arena. Nearly a dozen student displays lined the concourse for attendees to view and instrumental ensembles filled the area with music. For more information, go to

* The abstract submission deadline for the 2014 Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Forum (URCAF) has been extended to Monday, March 31. This year's forum on April 8 provides an excellent opportunity for WSU undergraduate students to present their scholarly and creative activity to a faculty, student and community audience, while competing for cash awards. * Shocker supporters and Men's Head Basketball Coach Gregg Marshall are planning the 8th Annual Gregg Marshall Shocker Basketball Auction and Golf Tournament. This year's event will tip off with the dinner and auction sponsored by Mahaney Roofing at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 3, in Charles Koch Arena.
