Construction fencing to block pedestrian routes
The fencing will most impact the free parking lots in the northwest quadrant of campus (near Koch Arena) and students walking from Fairmount Towers.
Effective Monday, March 24, the WSU Shuttle System routes will be altered to help assist pedestrians. The Wiedemann Hall shuttle stop will be temporarily relocated to Perimeter Road, just west of the Duerksen Fine Arts Center, and the Devlin Hall shuttle stop will be added to the WSU Shuttle System's Metropolitan Complex Route. The Devlin Hall stop will replace the discontinued Hubbard Hall stop as the last main campus stop before the shuttle returns to the Metropolitan Complex. Updated route maps will be available on the WSU Shuttle System homepage beginning March 17 at http://www.wichita.edu/shuttle
Those walking from the northwest quadrant of campus have four options:
- Walk east on 21st Street and south on Yale.
- Walk south past the Duerksen Fine Arts Center.
- Board the Metropolitan Complex Route shuttle at the relocated Wiedemann Hall stop and take it to the Devlin Hall stop.
- For Fairmount Towers residents, use the Housing Route shuttle.
The road to the Morrison Hall parking lot will also undergo construction. The road will be reduced to one lane, but will remain open for access to handicapped and reserved parking in Lot 8. No pedestrian traffic will be allowed on that section of road.
