* A lecture and book signing by Robert Gates will be held at 6 p.m. today (Monday, March 31) in Miller Concert Hall. The native Wichitan will speak and take questions from 6-7 p.m. After the lecture Gates will sign copies of his book, "Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War," from 7-8 p.m. Admission is free.
* The deadline for applications are fast approaching for the Shocker Leadership Awards. * Student Involvement is seeking interested student applicants to serve on the Community Service Board for the 2014/15 academic year. The Community Service Board seeks to unite individuals in creating collective actions and address issues of public concern through service and active citizenship in the community. * WSU student SaaJan Bhakta will speak on the importance of diversity, tolerance and cultural appreciation at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in 209 Hubbard Hall. Bhakta is the keynote speaker for Cultural Appreciation Week, hosted by the Office of Multicultural Affairs Ambassadors. Bhakta is a youth activist, author, philanthropist and public speaker.
