Reminders

* Students can now submit a request to change, add or remove their academic major and/or minor via an online process. The link for the online submission can be found in the Student Tools channel on the Home Tab in myWSU. Students can request changes/additions to any major or minor for which they meet the academic requirements and which do not require departmental approval. Direct questions to the Office of the Registrar in Jardine Hall at 978-3090, or to the college academic advising offices.

* The WSU Summer Financial Aid Application is available at http://www.wichita.edu/mywsu under the myFinances tab and then under Financial Aid Links. If you plan on attending classes this summer and have not yet completed the 2013-14 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), do so immediately at http://www.fafsa.gov . * A lecture and book signing by Robert Gates will be held at 6 p.m. today (Monday, March 31) in Miller Concert Hall. The native Wichitan will speak and take questions from 6-7 p.m. After the lecture Gates will sign copies of his book, "Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War," from 7-8 p.m. Admission is free.

* The deadline for applications are fast approaching for the Shocker Leadership Awards. This New Initiative aims to recognize the work of student-led organizations, students, faculty and staff at Wichita State University. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2822 for more information. * Student Involvement is seeking interested student applicants to serve on the Community Service Board for the 2014/15 academic year. The Community Service Board seeks to unite individuals in creating collective actions and address issues of public concern through service and active citizenship in the community. * WSU student SaaJan Bhakta will speak on the importance of diversity, tolerance and cultural appreciation at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in 209 Hubbard Hall. Bhakta is the keynote speaker for Cultural Appreciation Week, hosted by the Office of Multicultural Affairs Ambassadors. Bhakta is a youth activist, author, philanthropist and public speaker.
