Director of newly created One Stop appointed

The Division of Academic Affairs has named Janet Brandes as director of the newly created One Stop Student Services, effective today (Monday, April 21). Brandes returns to WSU after serving 14 years as the Educational Program Coordinator in the College of Health Profession's Department of Public Health Sciences, where she coordinated undergraduate programs and advised and provided services to students until 2012. She also has several years of experience providing technical assistance for large and complex state-wide health programs in Kansas and California.

This experience "makes her an excellent choice for directing the One Stop," said Richard Muma, associate vice president for Academic Affairs, who has been tasked with leading the planning and implementation efforts associated with the One Stop initiative.

"Janet brings a unique set of skills and experiences in leading large initiatives that require knowledge of managing multidisciplinary teams and processes," Muma said.

As director of the One Stop, Brandes will be responsible for managing the physical One Stop location in 122 Jabara Hall, opening this summer, as well as the virtual one-stop solutions provided by Blackboard.

Brandes will be temporarily housed in 411 Lindquist Hall, until the physical One Stop is completed. She can be reached at 978-7410 or janet.brandes@wichita.edu.
