* The WSU GreenGroup is sponsoring the 5th annual Earth Fest on Earth Day, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today (Tuesday, April 22) north of the RSC between the RSC and Grace Memorial Chapel. The keynote speaker will be Bob Dixon, mayor of Greensburg, on how a small Kansas town built back green after a terrible disaster at 2 p.m. in 101 Geology Building. * The second candidate for assistant professor of physics at WSU will be Durga Rajaram from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Rajaram will present "The Muon Ionization Cooling Experiment, MICE," at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in 128 Jabara Hall.

* Representatives of Cargill will be at WSU to talk about Big Data and Business at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, in 142 RSC Harvest Room. The speakers will explain what they are doing with the data they collect, how they collect the data and how Information Systems play a vital role in helping them to stay competitive.

* Three candidates are being considered for Chief Information Officer and will visit campus through Thursday, April 24, to meet with various campus and community groups. Faculty and staff are invited to a presentation by each candidate titled "Transforming Technology and Institutional Culture to be Relevant for the Future IT Needs Within Higher Education." * Remember: KDHE will not provide printed materials for open enrollment for health, dental and vision benefits this year. State Employee Health Plan members who would like to receive printed materials (open enrollment booklet and charts) will need to go to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/OEmaterials and complete the required fields by Friday, May 2, 2014.

* 2014 Spring Commencement will be held Friday and Saturday, May 16 and 17. The Commencement Office is looking for volunteers who are available to work either Friday or Saturday.
