* A Mass of Christian Burial for Deb Byers will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday, May 1) at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 861 N. Socora. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, 1640 N. Maize Road. Byers, director of Financial Aid at WSU, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 27. She had worked at WSU for more than 28 years. Donations can be made in her honor to the WSU Foundation. * The Office of Human Resources and Office of Multicultural Affairs is offering "Gender Diversity: Understanding Transgender," from 3-5 p.m. today (Thursday, May 1) in 265 RSC. This training will cover demystifying the transitioning process, challenges posed here at WSU, myths, misconceptions and language. The goal is to clarify the understanding of issues related to gender minority/transgender people. Sign up under the training tab at wichita.edu/oma.
