Patricia Phillips will be the director of the Liberal Arts and Sciences Advising Center when Barbara Mason retires from the position, effective at the end of commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 16, according to Ron Matson, interim dean of the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

Matson said: "Barbara has been an exceptional advocate for our college, for our faculty and our students. I wish to thank her and honor her for her years of service to the college and to the university in her leadership in the cause for advising.

"Patricia has proven herself inside the advising center and across the campus as a leader who understands the larger picture of advising to aid in student success. Patricia will assume her new position on May 17. Internal promotion was chosen as the vehicle for her advancement.

"Please join me in thanking Barbara for her service, and in welcoming Patricia to her new position," said Matson.
