Reminders
* If you are in Wichita this summer and looking for a place to sing, you're invited to join the WSU Summer Choir. The choir rehearses in June, with a concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 26, in Wiedemann Hall. This year's theme is "Have a Little Faith." There are no auditions. Just come and sing. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/thisis/wsunews/cnews/?cnid=13752 for more information.
* The Office of Multicultural Affairs is seeking outstanding individuals to serve as peer mentors for the Multicultural Student Mentoring Program. These students play a major role in the transition of new underrepresented students. Peer mentors must be at least a sophomore with a 2.75 GPA. To apply to be a peer mentor for fall 2014, contact Natalie Toney at natalie.toney@wichita.edu.
* The WSU Foundation is accepting applications for the 2014-15 Core Values Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to the undergraduate student who best articulates, in a 500-word essay, how he or she exemplifies the WSU Foundation's core values of integrity, relationships, teamwork and service. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2896 to learn more about additional requirements and the application process. The application deadline is Sunday, June 15.
* Student memberships at the Heskett Center will expire Sunday, May 18. Students who are not enrolled in summer sessions, but were enrolled in the spring semester, are eligible to purchase a summer membership for $18 plus tax.
* The Wichita Wild indoor football team has discounted tickets for all WSU students who present a Shocker Blast email at the box office. The discount will take $2 off Orange and Green Level Tickets (sideline and end-zone) for Saturday home games on May 17, 31 and June 7. Games begin at 7:05 p.m. in Hartman Arena.
* This is the last edition of Shocker Blast until summer classes begin on Monday, June 2. Have a great summer! Remember, most fall classes will begin Monday, Aug. 18. The academic calendar is available at http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2916
