Event will honor Dan Glickman for donating papers to University Libraries at Wichita State
The private event will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. on the lower level of Ablah Library. Members of the news media are invited to cover the event. A program will begin at 7:15 p.m., with remarks from WSU President John Bardo; Don Gilstrap, University Libraries dean; Elizabeth King, WSU Foundation president and CEO; and Russ Meyer, chairman emeritus of Cessna Aircraft.
Glickman also will speak. Samples of his papers will be on display. The event, which is by invitation only, will be hosted by the WSU Foundation and University Libraries.
Glickman, a Wichita native, represented the 4th Congressional District for 18 years. He was U.S. Agriculture Secretary from 1995-2001 and chairman and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America from 2004-2010. Today, he serves as a senior fellow at the Bipartisan Policy Center and also is executive director of the Aspen Institute's Congressional Program.
Also at noon Monday, Glickman will be the guest speaker for Rotary Club of Wichita's weekly meeting at Botanica, 701 Amidon. For more information about this event, call 316-262-4375.
