Important messages from the Office of International Education

1. Interested students are invited to a study abroad information session at noon Friday, May 16, at Garvey International Center, southeast corner of 17th and Hillside

The last study abroad information session of the spring semester will take place tomorrow, May 16th at noon at the Garvey International Center, southeast corner of 17th and Hillside. You do not need to sign up. All students -- including those who are curious about what study abroad is and those who already know they want to engage in a learning abroad experience -- are welcome. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/studyabroad if you cannot make this session, but would like to sign up for the June or July sessions.

2. Be a buddy to a new international student. WSU's International Student Union and Office of International Education coordinate a Buddy Program for new, incoming international (exchange) students in the fall and spring semesters. Many volunteers are needed to help these new students adjust to Wichita State, the city of Wichita and the United States for one semester.

If you are interested in sharing your culture, university and city/region to a new student from abroad, read the Buddy Program information sheet and complete the application by Monday, June 30. Go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2918 for information and go to http://www.wichita.edu/j/?2919 for the application.

If you have questions about the Buddy Program, send an email to ie.programming@wichita.edu.
