Wichita State University will ask for a 4.9 percent increase in tuition and fees for the 2014-15 academic year.

Changes were made to the original proposal, which was presented to the Kansas Board of Regents on Wednesday. The changes revised the increase downward to 4.9 percent.

Under the revised proposal, tuition and fees for a resident undergraduate taking 15 credit hours will be $3,633, an increase of $169.75.
