Propst named OMA Unity Award recipient

The Office of Multicultural Affairs named Sheryl Propst, Human Resources training manager, as the 2014 OMA Unity Award recipient at the annual OMA appreciation on May 8. The OMA Unity Award is given to a faculty or staff member who goes above and beyond to support the mission of the OMA and who has a commitment to diversity at WSU.

During the past year, Propst has worked with OMA to revamp and create diversity trainings such as Safe Zone, Gender Identity and Transgender Employees in the Workplace, and Gender Identity and Understanding Transgender Students. Propst and the OMA plan on continuing their partnership in the future to create more diversity trainings for Wichita State.

In addition to awarding the OMA Unity Award, the OMA also recognized their student staff, the Ambassadors for Multicultural Affairs, the Multicultural Student Mentoring Program mentors and tutors, along with all other supporters of OMA.
