Reminders
* Shockerthon is a group of WSU students who work to raise money for Children's Miracle Network. The group is going through the process of chartering Shockerthon as a Recognized Student Organization and are seeking a faculty or staff advisor for the new organization. If you are interested in helping, contact Amber Sevart at amsevart@yahoo.com for more information.
* The Shocker Sports Grill & Lanes now has a menu of 11 freshly prepared salads for a limited time. Summer hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays and 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Fridays with the sports grill kitchen closing 30 minutes prior to closing time.
* Requisitions -- As we conclude the end of the fiscal year, requisitions are due as normal at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, from the WSU Foundation. Any large invoices you receive between June 26 and 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, will be handled as emergency checks, as requested on June 30. The foundation does not encumber funds and cannot write any checks for fiscal year 2014 after June 30. Any requests to carry over unspent endowed fund authorized amounts must be justified in writing and sent to Patsy Selby by Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
* Career Services will host an On Campus Jobs Fair Thursday, July 17, in the RSC. At this event, WSU on-campus employers can meet and talk with students about employment opportunities. If you plan to hire student workers in late summer or fall, consider registering for this free event. Offices and departments from the WSU main campus, West and South Campus locations, WSU Downtown Center and Hughes Metropolitan Complex are welcome to register in Hire-a-Shocker. Begin at http://www.wichita.edu/career. Call Jeanne Hopkins if you have questions at 978-3435.
