Assistant professor Natalie Grant has led several service learning activities in the Bachelor of Social Work "techniques and skills in social work practice" course. During the past two years, she has expanded on these service-learning activities in her undergraduate course through adaptive approaches to meeting the changing needs of the students and campus community. One of these service-learning projects was the development of a lactation room on the fifth floor of Lindquist Hall for students, faculty and staff.
This is in accordance with Wichita State University policy (3.38 / Support of Nursing Mothers, http://webs.wichita.edu/inaudit/ch3_38.htm). The room has a refrigerator, sofa and chair to create a relaxing environment for those who need to use the space.
