An Ulrich engagement story

Patrick: I woke up that day really nervous about being able to pull everything off and keep it a surprise.

Marcela: It was our three-year anniversary. We went to have dinner first, and then we went to take a walk.

Patrick: After dinner I said that I wanted to take a walk on campus because it's a very nice place to walk and the weather was great.

Marcela: We ended up at the Ulrich, my favorite place, after hours.

Patrick: We wandered to the Ulrich, which was still open for "a special event," and went inside. I had a lot of help from Carolyn (Copple) and the staff setting everything up. We wandered through the galleries and I asked if she wanted to step outside for a bit.

Marcela: He led me outside to the sculpture terrace, where I noticed a beautiful table set up with two glasses and a bottle of wine. "Is this for us?," I asked.

Patrick: There on the second-floor terrace was the table with the ring on it.

Marcela: Patrick got on one knee and proposed to me.

Patrick: I asked her there and she said yes.

Marcela: It was the happiest moment of my life.

Patrick: I was really lucky that I was able to get in touch with the people from the Ulrich to let me propose to Marcela there. I wanted to make it something really special and unique, and they went above and beyond for us.
