Assistant professor Natalie Grant has led several service-learning activities in the Bachelor of Social Work "techniques and skills in social work practice" course. During the past two years, she has expanded on these service-learning activities in her undergraduate course through adaptive approaches to meeting the changing needs of the students and campus community. One of these service-learning projects was the development of a lactation room on the fifth floor of Lindquist Hall for students, faculty and staff.
This is in accordance with Wichita State University policy (3.38 / Support of Nursing Mothers, http://webs.wichita.edu/inaudit/ch3_38.htm). The room has a refrigerator, sofa and chair to create a relaxing environment for those who need to use the space.
